About Cycle CPD (and Chris)
Cycle CPD was created to give more people in Wales the confidence to look after their own bikes and keep riding safely.
Your trainer, Chris, is a qualified lecturer and Level 3 Cytech Master Technician with years of experience teaching bike maintenance at Gower College. He now runs Cycle CPD and has launched the first Cytech training centre in Wales, delivering accredited training for cycling professionals and mechanics.
While Cytech courses are aimed at professionals who need formal accreditation, these group maintenance sessions are for anyone who rides a bike: children and young people, club riders, ride leaders, and people who cycle to work. The focus is on empowering people to:
- Understand the basics of safe bike setup
- Spot common issues before they become problems
- Handle simple fixes themselves
- Know when it’s time to take their bike to a shop
Chris’s teaching style is practical, friendly and hands‑on. Sessions are designed so every participant leaves feeling more confident around their bike, whatever their starting point.

Where are you based?
We're based in Swansea, but we offer cycle maintenance training throughout Wales.

- Ideal group size: 3-10
- Minimum group size: 3
- Maximum group size: 10 (we can discuss larger groups by splitting into multiple sessions).
Do participants need to bring their own bikes or tools?
Typically:

- We can provide all the tools you need, but if you already have a workshop or tools on site, you're welcome to use your own.
